The Sickies

This little girl and I have been spending ALOT of time together since Saturday night. She's been very sick and has wanted only mama. Lots of cuddling and no sleep for me the last two nights but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Today was a somewhat better day to where she'd actually smile some. Today she spent some time playing with Libby our mini schnauzer. They have become the best of friends while Dawson and Ansley are at school.

A Must Try Place

My friend Whitney over at Shanty2Chic and her aunt one day were telling me of some must try places to eat since my family and I are new to the DFW area. One of the places was Chef Point Cafe . This resturant is inside a gas station in Watauga,Tx. They said they have the best food and bread pudding. I decided to do alittle research on the place. The couple that own it tried years ago to get a loan from the bank to open a resturant but since they had no previous resturant experience they wouldn't give them one but would give them a loan for a gas station so that's how it came to be where it is. The owner and chef is rated one of the top ten in Fort Worth and they've been featured by CNN, New York Times, USA Today, NBC, Paula Deen's Magazine and a visit from her,and Diners,Dives, and Drive Ins. I can see why it's rated so highly.

Yesterday evening we decided to go try it out and it didn't disappoint. It was sooo good. I had some of the best fried chicken and mash potatoes ever. My husband had liver and onions for those who like that. They have a menu for everyone though and I've heard that it's all very good. They have burgers, pizza, pasta, steaks, soups, salads, and southern comfort food. We ended our meal with some bread pudding since that's what they're known for. It was wonderful. It's a must if you visit.

We're so glad we tried it out and now have a new place to take family when they visit from Florida. It's nothing special on the outside and looks like a normal gas station except the cars everywhere. So if you're ever in the DFW area or live here and have never been you must try it. You'll thank me just like I'm thanking Whitney and her sweet aunt.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ireland

This sweet little girl turned 2 today. She's my baby and I can't believe how fast these 2 years have went by. She's been such a gift to our family and a pure joy to call my child.

A few things about Ireland: right now she weighs all of about 21 lbs. and is still wearing mainly 12 month clothing with some 18 months. She is fearless and will try anything of all my children she is I think going to be my most head strong. She knows what she wants when she wants it. She is obsessed with shoes right now and if you leave them around she will find them. She's been known to hide in the closets just playing with shoes. She is very loving and totally devoted to her brother and sister.

Today we had a pretty low key day. Since all our family is in Florida and it's just us now we had a couple from church whose little girl Ireland loves over for dinner and just to play and have cake and ice cream.

Look at those curls. They're still there. I love them and that it's so different from my other 2 children.

She has gotten to where she really loves it when her picture is taken. To me she looks like such a big girl here.

Oh precious baby of mine. That sweet face. I adore it and have adored the 2 years God has given me with you.

On our way to the park after dinner with her friend Avery.

Playing at the park. They play so well together.

Big brother helping that big 2 yr. old towards the slide.
Oh she loved this part. Loves to be sung to. Big sister there to help her out.

Can you tell she loves it?

She's patiently waiting to figure out how to blow that candle out.

Daddy showing her how to do it.

Eating some of that birthday cake. Yum.

Right before bed this is how I found her. Playing with her Minnie Mouse card that sings Happy Birthday to you. She loved this card and I think David and I could have just gotten her this card and she would have been happy.
Happy 2nd Birthday Ireland. I can't believe you're 2. You are a true blessing and I'm so glad you're ours Butterbean.

National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Rememberance Day

Today I am celebrating my Baby Byrd who I never met or held. In Sept. 2007 I experienced a miscarriage which was one of the worst things I have ever been through. I remember my sweet baby everyday but especially on those special days like today or the date of the miscarriage or would be birth. It makes me sad that my children will never know their sibling on earth but I have the peace that one day we will all get to meet that precious child and I can hold him/her as a mommy. God gives me that peace and I'm so thankful for that.

Along the way I've met some amazing women who I've became friends with because of this and it blesses my heart to know them. We have been a support system for each other especially on those special days when others sometimes forget them.

Every single day in the Us 2,000 women lose a baby to pregnancy/infant loss. That's 700,000 a year, a third of every female in the country. That's one to many losses. So today I am taking part of http://www.iamtheface.org/ . It's a campaign where you can donate a $1 to those women who experience loss every year and give them resources in such a difficult time. You can add your picture and leave a "in memory of" for your baby.

So today I am celebrating my Baby Byrd and all those precious angel babies and the moms who know how I feel.

The Pumpkin Farm

Yesterday one of my good friends that I originally had met online a couple of years ago on a mommy board invited us to join them at the pumpkin farm. This pumpkin farm is about 1 mile from our new home and we pass by it all the time. It was really cute and busy. The kids had alot of fun playing and seeing all the pumpkins.

Emily recently had a new baby and she did really well being out with 3 little ones. It's always so good to see her and her family. We not only became friends on our board but now in real life and I'm loving it. She's become a dear friend and she'll always have a special place in my heart.

Here's a cute little sign pulling into the Pumpkin Farm

One of the many displays they had of pumpkins. I love this time of year and all the beautiful pumpkins.

Dawson and Ansley in front of the Corn Maze posing at this cute photo op area.

I loved this. This old truck was sitting in the middle of the field by the corn maze as a photo op and to play on. It had pumpkins on it and all around it.

We had a great time with friends and enjoying the day. Thanks Emily for inviting us.
